Position: Deckhand -> Third Officer -> Second Officer -> Relief Chief Officer
Itinerary: Mediterranean, Indian Ocean, SE Asia
​Hired as deckhand onboard my first yacht, I was promoted to 3rd Officer (safety) after only a month.
Initially spending a year onboard, I was confident navigating worldwide and being in charge of LSA/FFE as well as drill planning and execution.
After another few months, I was promoted to 2nd Officer (navigation). I enjoyed being in charge of passage planning, bridge equipment and publications, as well as medical equipment.
I also stepped in as relief Chief Officer for a week during dry dock, completing various jobs onboard while leading the deck team of eight, including 3rd Officer and Bosun, making the ship ready for an Atlantic crossing.
