Position: Chief Officer
Itinerary: SE Asia
Hired as Chief Officer, I was mostly on deck leading the team of five deckhands, practically working as Chief Officer, 2nd Officer and Bosun.
I could once again get back into painting and varnishing when we had no guests, and led a large paint project on top deck.
We had up to 10 guests every few days, with demanding but enjoyable watersport days.
Highlighted roles on Paraffin

Day and night watches, anchoring and mooring operations. Responsible for bridge equipment and publications, GMDSS, passage planning etc.
In charge of navigation
Crew inductions, drill planning and execution, safety and health training.
Drills &
Crew Training


Working closely with Captain in all aspects of shipboard operations, with a lot of drive time, anchoring and dockings.
Chief Officer
Working closely with Bosun, leading the 5 deckhands in daily operations, scheduled maintenance, training, budgeting etc., -
on and off charter
Leading
Deck Team

In charge of medical first aid, updating, provisioning and maintaining the onboard lasarette.

Officer

Responsible for training, upkeeping and maintenance of Life Saving Appliances and Fire Fighting Equipment
LSA & FFE

Responsible for planning and leading of Safety Meetings, SSP updates, development of new SOP's, safety drills etc.
Safety
Officer

LSA, FFE, Drills, SOPEP, Crew Training and Inductions, GMDSS, Safety Meetings, Ship Safety Officer, Ship Security Officer
ISM & ISPS

Delegation, scheduling, operation, surveillance and maintenance.
